Abstract    Minimally invasive anatomic liver resection (MIALR) developed slowly in application and promotion due to inherent difficulties and challenges, and its theories and techniques were also partly heterogeneous and controversial. The International Expert Consensus for Minimally Invasive Anatomic Liver Resection (2021 version) was formulated to standardize the basic methods and techniques of minimally invasive anatomic hepatectomy as well as to ensure the security and homogeneity which must be achieved in the process of its development and promotion. This expert consensus made recommendations on the key technical topics for hepatic inflow/outflow and Segment/Section involved in MIALR, which was intended to provide necessary clinical support and guidance for those working on MIALR and to promote the safety promotion and overall development of this field sequentially.

Key words: minimally invasive liver resection, anatomic resection, international expert consensus
