Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery, as the most authoritative surgical professional media in China, adheres to its mission of being “clinically oriented, emphasizing practicality, and focusing on integrating theory with practice, serving to enhance the diagnostic and therapeutic skills of clinical surgeons.” It fully leverages its role as a core journal in the field of surgery, striving to build a bridge and a fast track among clinical surgeons, pharmaceutical enterprises, and research institutions to promote the translation of scientific research into clinical practice.
In recent years, the journal's circulation has consistently ranked among the top in its category domestically, and its evaluation metrics have maintained a leading position among domestic counterparts. According to the 2009 edition of the Chinese Journal Citation Report (CJCR), recently published by the Institute of Science and Technology Information of China (ISTIC), in 2008, the total citation frequency of
Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery was 3,653, ranking 34th among 1,868 Chinese and English scientific journals and 2nd among 51 surgical journals. Its impact factor was 1.016, ranking 118th among the 1,868 journals and 3rd among the surgical journals. These indicators showed varying degrees of improvement compared to the previous year, placing the journal at the forefront of its category.
To more comprehensively evaluate a journal's influence and status, the 2009 CJCR innovatively introduced a Composite Assessment Score. This metric, based on scientometric principles, systematically integrates various influence indicators (including total citation frequency, impact factor, non-self-citation rate, funded article ratio, citation rate, etc.) and their relative positions within the discipline, weighted accordingly. The design of this composite assessment system neutralizes differences in overall indicator baselines across disciplines, allowing for cross-disciplinary comparison. A higher score indicates greater comprehensive academic quality and influence. According to the assessment, the Composite Assessment Score for
Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery in 2008 was 74.2, ranking 82nd among the 1,868 journals and 2nd among surgical journals (
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics ranked first with a score of 82.0). This demonstrates a further enhancement and recognition of the journal's academic quality and influence.
The journal has been recognized multiple times as a “Core Journal in Surgery” since 1992. Since 1999, it has been designated as a “Chinese S&T Journal of Source for Statistical Data” by the Ministry of Science and Technology and awarded the title of “Double-Effect Journal in the Chinese Journal Matrix” by the General Administration of Press and Publication. It was indexed by the Russian
Abstract Journal in 2004 and by Poland's Index Copernicus in 2006.
While continuing to strengthen its editorial and publishing standards, the journal will expand its advertising services to further leverage its role as a core professional media nexus. Many domestic and international companies have established long-term, stable, and excellent cooperative partnerships with the journal, fostering mutual trust and friendship. In the coming year, we hope to consolidate and further develop our business cooperation with you, working together to expand and strengthen our endeavors!
