Peer-Reviewed

1. Peer Review Policy

Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery implements a single-blind, three-tier peer review system. Upon successful submission, manuscripts undergo initial screening by the editorial office. Manuscripts that fall outside the journal's scope, lack clinical utility or innovation, or contain significant scientific or factual errors will be rejected at this stage. Manuscripts passing initial screening are sent for external expert review; original research articles are reviewed by at least two external experts. Following a positive external review, manuscripts proceed to final review by the editorial committee. Based on the final review comments, the editorial office makes acceptance decisions fairly and impartially, with academic quality as the foremost criterion.

2. Editorial Policy

For all accepted manuscripts, the editorial office reserves the right to make technical and editorial revisions. Modifications that alter the original meaning of the content will be communicated to the authors for approval. Authors bear full responsibility for the content of their articles.

3. Guidelines for Reviewers

The sole criterion for manuscript acceptance is quality, encompassing both innovation and scientific rigor. Peer review aims to identify issues and enhance manuscript quality. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality regarding the manuscript and its contents. Should any direct conflict of interest exist with the manuscript, its authors, or their affiliated institutions, reviewers must notify the editorial office and recuse themselves from the review process. Reviewers are required to complete all sections of the review form and submit their comments through the online review system. The journal highly values reviewers' input and requests objective, fair, and constructive feedback.

4. Corrections and Retractions

(1) General Principle: Articles published online or in print are considered the final version. The journal generally does not issue corrections or retractions for published articles. However, under necessary circumstances (as outlined below), changes or retractions may be made.

(2) Corrections: If an article contains unintentional scientific errors that do not fundamentally invalidate its results and conclusions, the editorial office will publish a correction notice at the earliest opportunity, detailing the changes made to the original text.

(3) Retractions: The editorial office will retract an article and publish a retraction notice under the following circumstances: ① The article contains serious scientific errors that render its results and conclusions unreliable. ② Upon confirmed violation of academic integrity, including but not limited to academic misconduct, plagiarism, breach of medical ethics, duplicate publication, or serious flaws in the publication process. In such cases, the article will be retracted, a retraction notice will be published, and the notice will be linked to the original article in relevant databases.
