Abstract    The Annual Meeting of the American Thyroid Association （ATA） is the world’s leading conference focused on treatment and research of thyroid disorders. The 87th Annual Meeting of ATA was held on October 18-22, 2017 in Victoria, Canada. The conference invited leading experts from the whole world to present and share the latest excellence and innovation in diagnosis， treatment， basic and clinical research of the thyroid gland and its disorders. The contents related to thyroid cancer and surgery focused on the changing of strategies of thyroidectomy and lymph node dissection when patients’ benefit and risk were considered. Other hotspots included evaluation and treatment strategies for indeterminate thyroid nodule cytology results （Bethesda Ⅲ， IV） and the application and development of molecular diagnostics.

摘要：

美国甲状腺协会（ATA）年会是代表世界甲状腺疾病治疗与研究领域高水平的会议之一。2017年10月18-22日，第87届ATA年会在加拿大维多利亚举行。会议邀请了来自世界各地在甲状腺疾病诊疗及研究领域享有盛誉的顶级专家进行主题演讲与讨论，展示了目前甲状腺相关领域最新治疗指南、学术进展和研究成果。关于甲状腺肿瘤和甲状腺外科的内容多集中在以病人受益和风险的评估为基础，探讨甲状腺癌手术范围以及淋巴结清扫策略。其他热点问题包括对不确定的甲状腺结节穿刺结果（Bethesda Ⅲ、Ⅳ级）的评估和处理策略以及分子诊断的应用和发展。
