Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery has been successfully selected for Tier 1 in the "Comprehensive Surgery Scientific and Technological Journal Classification Catalogue." This inclusion is a significant recognition of the journal's strong academic influence and high academic quality. The Classified Catalogue of High-Quality Scientific and Technological Journals has been implemented under the leadership of the China Association for Science and Technology since 2019. Its purpose is to implement the guiding principles of the Opinions on Deepening Reform and Cultivating World-Class Scientific and Technological Journals jointly issued by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. The catalogue aims to establish a comprehensive and objective evaluation standard reflecting journal quality, promote an evaluation framework that equivalently values high-quality Chinese scientific journals and leading international journals, attract high-level research to be first published in Chinese scientific journals, continuously enhance the influence and discourse power of China's scientific journals within the international scientific community, and provide robust support for advancing China's technological innovation capacity and accelerating the development of an innovative nation. As of the end of November 2024, 44 national academic societies have completed the compilation of the first edition of the classification catalogue in their respective fields, and 14 societies have optimized and adjusted previously released catalogues. Through processes of expert review, public consultation, optimization, and final approval by a review committee, classification catalogues for 58 fields have been established. The high-quality scientific and technological journal classification catalogue for the clinical medicine field is divided into 23 disciplines. The T1 to T3 tiers include a total of 1,160 Chinese and English journals. Among the 255 T1-tier Chinese and English journals, only 32 are Chinese-language journals, and only 2 are not part of the Chinese Medical Association series. Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery is one of them.
Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery is co-sponsored by our university and the Chinese Medical Doctor Association. In recent years, according to the Chinese Scientific and Technological Journal Citation Reports, the journal has consistently ranked first among comprehensive surgery journals in terms of total citation frequency, impact factor, and composite score. It has been selected nine times as one of the "Top 100 Outstanding Chinese Academic Journals." The journal has also been honored with the First Liaoning Provincial Government Publishing Award (Journal Award and Excellent Editing Award) and the Fourth China Government Publishing Award (Excellent Editing Award). In 2013, it was recognized as one of China's Top 100 Newspapers and Periodicals. Furthermore, in the recently concluded evaluation for the second phase of the "Chinese Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan," the journal was selected for the Leading Journal Project.
