LIU Yong-feng
Born on August 13, 1952
Graduated from China Medical University in 1987 with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree.
Currently serves as Director of the Institute of Organ Transplantation and the Institute of General Surgery at China Medical University; Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University; and Head of the Department of Surgery, General Surgery, and Hepatobiliary Surgery & Organ Transplantation.
Main specialty and research area: Primary research focuses on hepatobiliary surgery and organ transplantation. Conducts clinical research on kidney transplantation, liver transplantation, and combined pancreas-kidney transplantation, as well as basic research on organ preservation, low-temperature molecular biology, and transplant immunology.
As the principal investigator, has undertaken numerous research projects including 3 from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 public welfare industry fund from the Ministry of Health, 1 doctoral program fund from the Ministry of Education, 1 project from the Ministry of Health, 4 provincial innovation projects and major projects, and over ten projects from provincial/municipal science and technology commissions and education departments. Total research funding secured amounts to 7.58 million RMB.
Awards received: Second and Third Prizes of the Ministry of Health Science and Technology Progress Award, First Prize of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Award, and Second and Third Prizes of the Liaoning Province Science and Technology Progress Award.
Current memberships and appointments: Member of the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association; Vice Chairman of the Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and Leader of its Endocrine Surgery Group; Vice Chairman of the Organ Transplantation Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; Chairman of the Liaoning Province Surgery Society of the Chinese Medical Association; Chairman of the Liaoning Province Organ Transplantation Society of the Chinese Medical Association.
