ZHANG Zhong-tao
Born on April 20, 1964

Graduated from Capital Medical University in 1987 with a Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree.

Currently serves as Director of the Department of Surgery at Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University; Professor; Chief Physician; and Doctoral Supervisor.

Specialty and main research area: Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Surgery.

Major grants and research projects undertaken: One grant from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one grant from the Beijing Natural Science Foundation.

Awards received: Chinese Medical Science and Technology Progress Third Prize (twice), Beijing Science and Technology Progress Second Prize (twice).

Concurrent positions: Standing Committee Member of the Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; Vice Leader of the Surgical Operative Techniques Group of the Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; Vice Chairman of the Beijing Surgery Professional Committee; Standing Committee Member and Secretary-General of the Evidence-Based Medicine Professional Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, etc.
