ZHU Zheng-gang
Born on January 19, 1954

Graduated from Shanghai Second Medical University in 1991 with a Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree.

Currently serves as Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Dean of its School of Medicine, President of Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Director of the Shanghai Institute of Digestive Surgery, Professor of Surgery, Chief Physician, and Doctoral Supervisor.

Main specialty and research area: Digestive Surgery, basic and clinical research on the comprehensive treatment of gastrointestinal tumors.

Current research projects: Two sub-projects under the National "973" and "863" Programs, one project from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, two major research projects from Shanghai Municipality, and one major project from the Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau, with total research funding of approximately 12 million RMB.

Awards received: National Science and Technology Progress Second Prize (once), National Science and Technology Progress Third Prize (once), Shanghai Science and Technology Progress First Prize (once), Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Second Prize (once), Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Third Prize (once), and Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Second Prize (once).
