ZOU Sheng-quan
Born on July 8, 1943
Graduated from the former Wuhan Medical College in 1969. Holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree.
Currently serves as Distinguished Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Chief Physician at Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Doctoral Supervisor.
Main specialty and research area: General Surgery, basic and clinical research on hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases.
Major grants and research projects undertaken: Two grants from the National High-Tech R&D Program (863 Program), one Sino-European Union International Cooperation Program, etc.; including projects on the preparation of nano-drug carriers for gastrointestinal tumors, screening of early diagnostic markers for gastrointestinal tumors, and the development of highly targeted nano-traditional Chinese medicine for malignant tumor treatment.
Awards received: Science and Technology Progress Second Prize from the Ministry of Education, Wuhan Science and Technology Progress First Prize, Hubei Province Science and Technology Progress Second Prize, among others.
Concurrent positions: Vice Chairman of the Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and Vice Leader of its Biliary Surgery Group, Chairman of the Hubei Province General Surgery Society of the Chinese Medical Association, etc.
