WANG Shan
Born on November 30, 1960

Graduated from the Health Science Center of Peking University (formerly Beijing Medical University) in 1992 with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree.

Currently serves as President of Peking University People's Hospital, Professor of Surgery, and Chief Physician. Doctoral Supervisor.

Main specialties and research areas: Diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of diseases in the field of general surgery; clinical surgical practice and industry management; clinical medical education (undergraduate medical education, postgraduate medical education, and continuing medical education); clinical and basic medical research; modern hospital construction and management; health management; and the promotion and development of public health care.

Major grants and research projects undertaken: Over the past decade, has led or participated in 23 national and provincial-level projects, including the National "Tenth Five-Year Plan" Science and Technology Key Project (Medical Clinical Teaching Demonstration Project), National Natural Science Foundation of China grants, 863 Program projects, and major scientific research projects of the Ministry of Education.
