Professor CAI Xiu-jun
Born on November 20, 1963
Professor Cai Xiujun graduated from the School of Clinical Medicine of Zhejiang University in 1986 and earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 1993.
He currently serves as the Vice President of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine; Professor of Surgery; Doctoral Supervisor; and Director of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Research Institute of Zhejiang University.
His primary specialty is Hepatobiliary Surgery and the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal surgical diseases, with a particular focus on Laparoscopic Surgery.
He has led major national and provincial-level research projects, including grants from the National High-Tech R&D Program (863 Program), Special Research Programs for the Health Sector, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Zhejiang Provincial Major Science and Technology Programs.
His major awards and honors include:
* First Prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award (3 times)
* Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award
* Second Prize of National Technology Invention Award
* Selected as one of the first Distinguished Experts of Zhejiang Province (2005)
