Professor QIN Xin-yu
Born on April 25, 1953

Professor Qin Xinyu graduated from the University of London, United Kingdom, in 1988, earning a Doctorate (Ph.D.).

He currently holds the positions of Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University; Director and Professor of the Department of General Surgery; and Doctoral Supervisor.

His specialties and primary research focuses include General Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Islet Transplantation, and studies on post-operative gastrointestinal motility disorders.

Major grants and research projects he has led consist of two grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one key project from the National Health Commission, and one key project from the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality.

His major awards include the Third Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award (twice) and the Third Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award from the former State Education Commission.

He also holds concurrent positions as the Vice Chairman of the Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and Leader of its Gastrointestinal Surgery Group, as well as the Chairman of the General Surgery Professional Committee of the Shanghai Medical Association.
