Abstract    Gastric Precancerous Lesion（GPL）is a concept of pathology，refers to the gastric mucosa pathological changes which have the ability to malignant transformation. Current knowledge indicates that intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia are recognized as GPL. Early effective treatments for this condition are not currently available. The progress of endoscopic examination technology and discovery of new biological indicator are expected to improve the GPL diagnostic rate. The principle of treatment for GPL has not yet reached a consensus. Drug therapy, endoscopic therapy or laparoscopic surgical treatment on the basis of the eradication of  helicobacter pylori (HP) are recommended. Further exploring the accurate mechanism and effective pathway of blocking GPL become gastric cancer is still the future research direction.
