Abstract For retroperitoneal tumors, especially complex retroperitoneal tumors, preoperative pathologic and molecular diagnoses are increasingly getting high demand with the means and methods of clinical comprehensive treatment progresses. The tumor type, molecular targets and drug sensitivity information are available through puncture-based tissues by routine histopathology, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence in situ hybridization and PCR-based molecular pathological technology. Patients will benefit from individualized treatment after referring to the information. Therefore, preoperative diagnosis has important clinical significance for complex retroperitoneal tumor.
