Abstract The incidence of colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) is high and liver metastases of most patients with colorectal cancer in China are unresectable. Although there are still conflicts on the treatment of the primary cancer of CRLM, a systematical therapy system including the surgical resection of primary cancer has been established with the accumulation of experience on primary cancer management, the starting of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), the application of conversion therapy, the implement of individual therapy principle. However, the rational choose of surgical resection, neoadjuvant therapy and palliative care is the key to improve patients’ life quality and achieve the best therapy effects for patients with unresectable CRLM.
