Abstract    Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients (such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease) usually have high incidence of malnutrition. Nutritional treatment, especially enteral nutrition, is an important treatment measures. Elements diet and the non-elemental diet for IBD therapeutic effect have not obvious difference. The formula of protein, peptide and amino acids has its characteristics. The application should be chosen individually. The mechanism of enteral nutrition therapy of IBD is various. So far nutrition support therapy in most patients with IBD is a kind of "auxiliary support treatment" against the disease itself rather than a kind of basic treatment. With the development of clinical nutrition and the understanding of IBD, enteral nutrition support will become the basic therapy of IBD.
