Abstract The biological behavior of pancreatic cystic tumors is diverse. Surgery is the only effective treatment for pancreatic cystic tumors. Currently laparoscopic surgical treatment of pancreatic cystic tumors includes pancreatic cyst enucleation, laparoscopic pancreatic distal resection with or without spleen preservation, laparoscopic pancreatic segment resection, pancreatic pseudocyst drainage and laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy or total pancreatectomy. With the property of minimal invasion, fewer complication and rapid postoperative recovery, laparoscopic treatment of pancreatic cysts will become the major method for the treatment of pancreatic cystic tumors.
