Abstract The prevalence of pancreatic cystic neoplasms has increased dramatically due to the frequent use of abdominal imaging in health examination. Resection is the only treatment method for PCN at present. For asymptomatic patients ,resection means high risk and a decrease in quality of life, therefore proper characterization of PCN is important not only to recognize premalignant lesions that will require surgical resection, but also to avoid unnecessary operation. PCN has the risk of recurrence, so follow-up after resection is also very important.
