Abstract    Postoperative complications are important factors of the death after radical gastrectomy. Anastomotic leakage is a severe postoperative complication, which is caused by many reasons. Proper preoperative preventive measures, appropriate choice of surgical procedure and effective postoperative therapy are the main keys to reduce the mortality caused by anastomotic leakage.
