Essence of disseminated intravascular coagulation:the severe endothelium inflammatory dysfunction AN You-zhong. Department of Critical Care Medicine, Peking University People’s Hospital, Beijing 100044, China
Abstract Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is an inflammatory syndrome but not a hematological disease by definite etiology. Any pathogen of SIRS damaging the endothelium may cause the dysfunction of coagulation and fibrinolysis, finally develop to DIC. As the syndrome, DIC may be diagnosed by several criterions of a standard group due to its multiple etiological factors. But the key therapy of DIC includes both protecting the endothelium from inflammatory damage and the pertinent treatment of different underlying diseases.
