Abstract    Tension free inguinal hernia repair has the advantage of low complication incidence and quickly recovering from operation. The skill is widespread in many hospitals of China. The postoperative complications include recurrence, infection, pain, haematoma and injury of spermatic cord, which should be endued highly attention. The key points for the prevention of postoperative complications include understanding of inguinal opography, repair stuff features and hernia repair techniques as well as standard operation based on basic surgical principles.
