Abstract Congenital biliary dilatation is a kind of congenital bile duct abnormalities, which often occurs during childhood. The main treatment is operation which includes cyst excision and hepaticojejunostomy. There will be possibilities of long-term postoperative complications such as biliary infection, biliary calculi, anastomotic stricture and carcinogenesis. So the prevention of complications should be paid more attention to clinically and reoperation will be necessary once the complications set in.
