Abstract One of the earliest reports of liver transplantation (LT) for Caroli’s disease was reported by Sans in 1997, and then successful cases of LT performed in Caroli’s disease emerged. The clinical research discoverd that the 5 years survival rate of recipient and transplants can reach 76 percent and 71 percent after LT respectively. Living donor liver transplantation application in Caroli’s disease increased gradually in recent years, and its 2 years survival rate could reach 81.6 percent. Therefore, LT is a feasible option in the treatment of diffuse Caroli’s disease, even when complicated by recurrent cholangitis or intrahepatic bile duct stone.
