Abstract The development of modern imaging technology could help the diagnosis of congenital biliary dilatation (CBD) type and complications, which is very important on making complete treatment. Ultrasonography and CT examination are the most commonly used diagnostic methods for CBD because of their non-invasiveness. Other methods are mainly through the ways of biliary tract imaging showing the entire biliary tract conditions, including magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP), percutaneous transhepatic angiography (PTC), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), intraoperative cholangiography and so on.
