Abstract Preoperative nutritional screening often use screening tools which contain composite index, such as SGA, MNA, MUST, NRI index and NRS2002 etc. The clinical significance of preoperative nutritional screening tools not only lie in assessing the nutritional status of patients before operation, but only in predicting the clinical outcome and whether patients will benefit from nutritional support. NRS2002 is the current preferred screening tool.
