Abstract    Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are the most common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract. Gain-of-function mutations on tyrosine kinase receptor are the keys of oncogenesis in GIST, which become the target of therapy, as well as the mechanism of drug resistance. A decade of progress in clinical management of GIST becomes a model of   translational medicine research, which advocates rapid conversion from the laboratory achievement to clinical application.

Key words
