Abstract As economy growing and society aging, the incidence of peripheral vascular diseases (PVD) increases year after year. Platelet adhesion, activation and aggregation play pivotal steps in the process of PVD. Effective antiplatelet therapy could decrease the incidence of cardiovascular events in PVD patients significantly. Antiplatelet therapy for the secondary prevention could reduce the incidence of cardiovascular events in PVD patients with high risks effectively. However, reduced responsiveness to antiplatelet therapy is found in some patients and could increase risk of bleeding.
