Abstract Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) of the lower limbs is a kind of vascular disease with high morbidity. The etiological factors of CVI are venous hypertension and inflammation cascade reaction. The mechanisms are the pharmacological targets of most drugs for CVI. Systemic drug therapy has been tried for many years in an attempt to reduce symptoms and improve microcirculation. The first aim of drug therapy is to improve CVI symptoms and avoid adverse reaction.
