Abstract    The rate of bile duct injury has risen as cholecystectomy cases increases quickly since the widespread development of laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Bile duct injury and traumatic bile duct stenosis have become the popular topics once again in this century. Prevention is the most important for iatrogenic bile duct injury. Stressing basic requirement of surgery, implementing surgery carefully, converting to open operation opportunely are still the key points of preventing intraoperative bile duct injury. The favourable surgical repairing can account for 90% in specialist centers and experienced surgeons. The effect of initial repairing is better than the following. The final purpose of repairing is the recovery of bile duct physiologic function. Roux-en-Y hepatico-jejunostomy has still been performed widely at present.
