Abstract Objective To report the clinical application experience of Glissonean pedicle transection method for hepatic segmentectomy in hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods The clinical data of 15 cases of hepatocellular carcinoma in different segments performed Glissonean pedicle transection method for hepatic segmentectomy from February 2010 to August 2010 in the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University were analyzed. Results Anatomical hepatic segmentectomy was completed in all 15 cases successfully. The average operation time was 130 (100-180) min and the average blood loss was 180 (80-320) mL. There was not blood transfusion during operations and any complications after operations in all cases. Conclusion Glissonean pedicle transection method for hepatic segmentectomy is a kind of the perfect operation method of anatomical hepatic segmentectomy, which is convenient, fast and safe to perform.
