Abstract The construction of robotic surgery system and the brief history of robotic surgery were reviewed. Robotic surgery had been applied widely in radical colorectal surgery. The operation was safe and operation time was shortened obviously. The outstanding advantages of robotic surgery included the stable and brilliant three-dimension image, the convenience of surgery manipulation. The disadvantages like the lack of force feedback and the prolonged surgery time were also evaluated.
