Status and controversies of endoscope thyroidectomy in thyroid cancer FAN Lin-jun, JIANG Jun. Breast Center, Southwest Hospital, the Third Military Medical University, Chongqing 400038,China

Abstract The application of endoscope thyroid surgery including thyroidectomy and neck lymph node dissection increases in thyroid cancer today, which could radically remove the disease at most extent and preserve the neck appearance in the meanwhile. There are controversies on indications, effectiveness and no-touch principle of endoscope surgery in thyroid cancer. The robot-assisted system enlarged the applicable range of endoscope surgery in thyroid cancer. It is necessary to select the suitable indications and operation range and to prevent excessus treatment.
