Abstract Rectal cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors. Half of the patients died of local recurrence or metastasis within five years. To well recognize the pathological factors related to prognosis will take a significant contribution in treatment determination. There are many prognosis-related factors. Besides those widely accepted ones, recent studies have found some new high-risk factors. The pathologic factors related to the prognosis found recently have important significance.
