Abstract There is a variety of operations in general surgery. To make a right choice of incisions and approaches is the first and important step to accomplish the surgical procedures. An appropriate incision should meet following requirements: ⑴ to give a good explosure, ⑵ easy to open and close, ⑶ cause less damage, ⑷ to result less postoperative pain and disruption of wound, ⑷ to have better possibilities for extension of the incision when needed.
