Abstract    Stress responses of surgical critically ill patients involved in the functional change of multiple system and organs of body. In this status, stress responses are characterized as disorder of metabolic balance, endocrine system, water and electrolyte balance, inflammation and immune response，et al. The paper introduces basic knowledge of stress responses of surgical critically ill patients and aims at improving efficacy and reducing mortality of the patients.
