Abstract VIPomas (vasoactive intestinal peptide tumors) are rare pancreatic endocrine tumors associated with a well-defined clinical syndrome characterized by watery diarrhea , hypokalemia and achlorhydria. The pancreatic body and tail were the main locations of lesions. Clinical screening, early diagnosis and precise management may affect survival and improve the quality of life of patients. Typical symptoms and the plasma value of VIP(vasoactive intestinal polypeptide) were keys to diagnosis. The resection of operation is the most effective means for treatment. The first choice of medication is somatostatin analogs which can induce long-term remission even in inoperable lesions.
