Abstract Complex liver resection is technically difficult, high risk and the characteristics of the high incidence of postoperative complications. Paying attention to the preoperative evaluation of liver functional reserve and the preparation for surgery, using different methods of liver vascular occlusion according to the individual, maintenance of the remaining liver blood supply and drainage, control of infection, viral replication, electrolyte imbalance and other incentives are the effective measures to reduce the incidence of liver failure. The proper treatment of liver sections and unobstructed drainage are effective means of prevention of bile leakage and subphrenic infection. Reducing blood loss and timely replenishment of coagulation factor can prevent postoperative coagulation disorders.
