Abstract Objective To discuss the indication, feasibility, relative merits of laparoscopic incisional hernia repair. Methods The clinical data of 19 cases of laparoscopic incisional hernia repair performed between November 2006 and November 2008 at Changhai Hospital of the Second Military Medical University were analyzed retrospectively. Results All cases were performed by laparoscopy successfully with a mean operation time of 46 mins and a mean time of post-operation hospital stay of 3 days. It encountered 3 cases of seroma and no recurrence case was found during the follow-up period of 2-26 months. Conclusion Laparoscopic incisional hernia repair has the advantage of minor injury, quicker recovery and lower recurrence rate compaired with the open surgery.
