Clinicopathological features and rational treatment of early gastric stump carcinoma DAI Dong-qiu. Department of Surgical Oncology, the First Affiliated Hospital, China Medical University, Shenyang 110001, China Abstract It is very difficult to detect early gastric stump carcinoma because there are non-specific clinical symptoms of the patients. Endoscopy and biopsy is still important method in early diagnosis of early gastric stump carcinoma. Rational application of EMR, ESD and radical operation may be main handling methods for patients with early gastric stump carcinoma. The long-term prognosis after rational treatment is generally comparable to that after resection of primary cancer in the proximal third of the stomach.
