Alprostadil for acute pancreatitis: a systematic review LI Qiang* , CAO Nong, YANG Ke-hu, et al. *The First Hospital of Lanzhou University, Evidence Based Medicine Center of Lanzhou University, Lanzhou 730000,China Corresponding author: CAO Nong, E-mail: caonong2008@yahoo.com.cn Abstract objective To asses the effectivity and safety of alprostadil plus conventional treatment for the acute pancreatitis. Methods It searched related database and identified randomized controlled trials or quasi-randomize controlled trials of alprostadil plus conventional treatment versus conventional treatment for the acute pancreatitis. It evaluated the quality of the included studies by handbook 4.2.6,which recommend by cochrane collaboration. The data analysis was conducted by using Rev Man 4.2.10. Results Five randomized controlled trials (n=310) were included. The Meta analysis showed that there were significant difference between two groups in terms of abdomen pain’s relieving, the time of abdomen pain complete disappeared, serum amylase return to normal and period of cure. Conclusion The current evidence shows that alprostadil plus conventional treatment can significantly reduce the time of acute pancreatitis abdomen pain’s relieving, the time of abdomen pain complete disappeared, serum amylase return to normal and period of cure.
