Department of General Surgery, Drum Tower Hospital,Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing 210008,China Corresponding author: XIE Min, E-mail: M-Xie0828@medmail.com.cn Abstract Objective To discuss the prevention and treatment of postoperative complications of hyperthermia therapy for pancreatic cancer.Methods The medical records of 22 patients with advanced unresectable pancreatic cancer underwent hyperthermia therapy in our Hospital from October,1988 to June,2008 were analyzed retrospectively.Meanwhile,relevant literatures were reviewed.Results All the patients underwent radiofrequency ablation or microwave coagulation,no one died during the perioperative period,but one have pancreatic leak.Conclusion Under the leading of ultrasound in operation, hyperthermia therapy is a safe and effective method for patients who were suffered from unresectable pancreatic cancer,but need more clinical data.
