Methods The clinical data of 36 cases performed inguinal hernia repairing used Modified Kugel patch via the anterior approach from June 2006 to October 2006 at Shanghai 9th Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine were analyzed retrospectively. Results The operative time was (46±13) minutes. The postoperative hospital stay was (4.7±1.6) days. All the wounds were healed without any seroma or infection. No recurrence was found in 12 months of follow-up after operation. Conclusion Repairing of inguinal hernia using Modified Kugel patch is a safe and effective procedure with rapid convalescence and satisfactory results.
