Abstract    Excessive skin due to weight loss after metabolic and bariatric surgery can cause serious appearance, physiological, and psychological problems. The abdominal wall is one of the areas affected by metabolic and bariatric surgery, and the implementation of staged body-contouring surgery, including abdominal wall body-contouring surgery, provides an important solution to this problem. Understanding and accurately evaluating the impact of weight loss on the abdominal wall, selecting the appropriate surgical time, and optimizing the implementation of abdominal wall body-contouring surgery based on sufficient preoperative preparation are of great significance for further improving the effectiveness of metabolic and bariatric surgery and reducing the occurrence of complications.
