Abstract    The various pathological features and changeable clinical characteristics present a significant challenge to the therapy of severe acute pancreatitis. With the progress of the further research, accumulation of experience and innovation of concept,the diagnosis and treatment concept of severe acute pancreatitis has changed dramatically. Recently, a number of guilding programs have come out, which play a crucial role in understanding the progressive disease, selecting the appropriate treatment and improving the prognosis of patients.
