Abstract:

Department of Vascular Surgery, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, Shanghai 200001, China Corresponding author: ZHANG Ji-wei, E-mail: zhangjiwei001@sina.com.cn Abstract Injuries to major abdominal vessels are uncommon but highly lethal vascular crises. Abdominal vascular trauma results from penetrating, blunt, or iatrogenic injuries. Essential to the successful management of the injuries is a thorough knowledge of the complex anatomy of abdominal vascular structures and a familiarity with the techniques of proximal and distal control combined with selected application of primary repair, bypass, and/or ligation. The presentation reviews the etiology, diagnosis and treatment of major abdominal vascular injuries.
