尽管外科手术仍然是直肠癌治疗的主要手段，但直肠癌的综合治疗团队（包括外科医生、肿瘤内科专家、病理学家和放射学家以及胃肠专家）已经参与到直肠癌的治疗之中。这种多学科工作模式已经在世界范围内被广泛接受。采用多学科专家组（MDT）的治疗模式，可以改善直肠癌的治疗效果，进一步减轻病人经济负担。

Department of No.2 Gastrointestinal Surgery,Peking University School of Oncology, Beijing 100036, China Abstract Rectal cancer is one of the most common cancers in China.Despite the fact that surgery is still the mainstay of treatment for patients with rectal cancer, the management of the disease should be performed by a multidisciplinary team (MDT) with contributions by surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, radiologists and gastroenterologists. The working modality of MDT in the treatment of rectal cancer was widely adopted in the world. MDT modality could play the key role in improving treatment outcomes and reducing patients’cost.
