Abstract: Dentofacial deformity is a deformity of the maxillofacial bones，and the patients have abnormalities in facial appearance and oral function，which can adversely affect their quality of life and social activities. Orthognathic surgery is one of the main treatment methods for dentofacial deformities. Clinicians have paid more attention to the motives of patients undergoing orthognathic surgery. This paper reviews the research methods，research results and related influencing factors on the motives of orthognathic surgery in patients with dentofacial deformities at home and abroad，aiming to provide reference and help for clinical work.

摘要： 牙颌面畸形是一种颌面骨骼畸形，患者的面部外形、口腔功能存在异常，会对其生活质量及社交活动产生不利影响。正颌手术是牙颌面畸形治疗的主要方法之一，临床医生对患者正颌手术动机的关注度逐步提升。文章就国内外有关牙颌面畸形患者正颌手术动机的研究方法、研究结果及相关影响因素做一综述，为临床工作提供参考与帮助。
