LIU Ming, LIU Xiao-zhou, ZHANG Guang-dao, WU Lin
    2024, 17(4): 385-390.  DOI: 10.19538/j.kq.2024.04.001
    Abstract ( )
With the development of computer technology, digital design has been widely used in the field of prosthodontics, providing new options for the design and manufacture of removable partial denture(RPD). This article explores the current status and development of digital transformation in RPD design, focusing on the application of clinical decision support systems for RPDs and computer aided design systems for denture, which provides assistance for the popularization of clinical application of RPD digital design.
Application and development of digital technology in guiding planes preparation of removable partial denture
CHENG Ni, SHAN Wen-xi, WEN Tao, WU Jiang
    2024, 17(4): 391-395.  DOI: 10.19538/j.kq.2024.04.002
    Abstract ( )
In the restoration of removable partial denture, the precise preparation of the guiding plane is important for the retention and stability of removable partial denture. The guiding plane can also reduce the adverse stress of the abutment and avoid food impaction. How the prepared guiding plane can be ensured to be as parallel as designed one has always been a concern for clinicians. In view of the traditional guiding plane preparation cannot meet the needs of clinical precise treatment, digital combined with 3D printing technology is expected to solve the above problems on guiding plane preparation. Based on this, the author also proposes a multifunctional guide template with guiding plane preparation and implant implantation. With this novel template, the implantation and removable partial denture insertion can be completed simultaneously, which expands the application of guiding plane preparation with digital technology. This article elaborates on the application and development of digital technology in guiding planes preparation of removable partial denture, providing assistance for the clinical promotion and application of this technology.
Digital technology helps precise restoration of removable dentures from the clinical side
    CHEN Hu
    2024, 17(4): 396-400.  DOI: 10.19538/j.kq.2024.04.003
    Abstract ( )
The rate of partially or totally edentulous patients among middle aged and elderly people in China is relatively high, with removable dentures being the primary restoration method. However, traditional techniques for removable denture restoration heavily rely on the clinical experience of dentists, necessitating technological innovation. Digital technology has played a significant role in the laboratory aspect of removable denture restoration, but clinical procedures still heavily depend on manual processes. To address these issues, our team has explored and applied digital technology methods, effectively simplifying the steps of tooth preparation, impression taking, and recording of jaw relationships, which leads to improved outcomes. This article elaborates on the digital technology at the clinical side of removable dentures, providing some references for the precise and efficient restoration of removable dentures in clinical practice.
