Abstract: As the demand for oral health increases, stomatological education faces new challenges and development opportunities, with a growing focus on clinical teaching in stomatological emergency. Clinical teaching in stomatological emergency belongs to post-graduation education, which aims to cultivate comprehensive diagnostic and emergency management abilities among dental clinicians. The Emergency Department of Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology, after 25 years of development, has continuously summarized clinical teaching experiences and preliminarily explored teaching models tailored to the clinical characteristics of stomatological emergency. These models include pre-service theoretical training, clinical internships using a "physician + assistant" collaborative approach, and clinical guidance and quality control by supervising teachers. Through a two-month short-term internship, students can perform basic stomatological emergency diagnosis and treatment in a relatively independent way under the guidance of teachers, thereby enhancing their comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic abilities as well as doctor-patient communication skills. This paper summarizes the existing clinical teaching models in the Emergency Department of Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology and proposes future challenges and development directions for clinical teaching in stomatological emergency.
