Abstract: Dental local anesthesia is an essential step in most dental treatments，especially in oral surgery. Local anesthetic drugs are the primary option to determine the effectiveness of anesthesia and painless treatment. On the basis of pain-free treatment，a series of procedures，including tooth extraction，dental implantation，bone grafting，etc.，can be performed successfully. Since the middle of last century，the application of dental local anesthetic drugs and the concept of painless treatment has enabled various dental treatment modalities to be performed. In the long-term research and development in the field of biomedicine，dental local anesthesia drugs of China have also achieved the historical process from non-existence to existence and from existence to excellence. It has also brought China′s treatment of comfortization into a new era. The article gives a brief description of the development history of local anesthetic drugs applied to stomatology in China.
